Board Game drive
This is the image for the news article titled Board Game drive
We are in need of board/card games  for the cold winter days ahead (Grades 2-5.) Some Suggestions:  UNO, Left Right Center, Blink, Yahtze, Master Mind, Card Decks, Sorry, Sequence, Jenga, Blockus, Chess, Checkers, Concentration, 24, Boggle.
Board games for recess will allow students to be engaged and to interact with each other. Often it is easy to just put in a video to occupy our students' time, but they still have a lot of energy when the video is over. By interacting and moving during the playing of board games, some of that energy will be spent. Board games teach skills such as motor skills, coordination, colors, numbers, cooperation, deductive reasoning, concentration, strategic thinking and  important social skills such as communicating verbally, sharing, waiting, taking turns, and enjoying interaction with others.
Board games can foster the ability to focus, and lengthen attention span by encouraging the completion of an exciting, enjoyable game. All of these skills are life-long skills that can be acquired by playing board games!
Donations can be dropped off at the office or sent to school and given to your child's teacher.
